A full day along Eyl’s white sand spit, emerald lagoon, and historic Indian Ocean shore.
Leave Garowe in the morning and follow the Nugaal road down to Eyl, one of Puntland’s oldest port towns. Walk the sand spit between the lagoon and the ocean, visit the fishing village, and eat freshly cooked seafood by the water. The return drive catches the late light across the valley. This is a long day with a mix of vehicle time and easy walking — bring a hat, water, and shoes you can get sandy.
